Tyler, The Creator and Little Goblins (Video)

Tyler literally tweeted this 15 minutes ago and it already has an absurd amount of views and comments. I’m not sure if this was supposed to be a promotion for the album that didn’t make the cut, or just a new promotion but it’s hilarious. I don’t know why but I really enjoy midgets running. I think I’m a bad person. Tyler’s laugh at the end is also just ridiculous. I’m beginning to think that if you want to promote any album, you need to take a page from Odd Future’s book.

Odd Future Surprise Concert (Video)

As you’ve probably all heard, Tyler got arrested yesterday (promoting his album?) and Odd Future had a surprise concert at the Troubador in West Hollywood to celebrate the release of Goblin. Looks like there are a ton of dudes there, and they all seem to know all the lyrics, especially for an album that dropped that day. Hmm…Anyway, Goblin is still playing on my iTunes.

I’ve been awake for something like 26 hours straight with all this studying shit so I’m going to bed. Hopefully, I’ll be posting a lot more later tonight. Sleepyhead out.

Swaggin’ out to some Rebecca Black, too

Tyler, The Creator-Goblin Album

Do what makes you fucking happy, cuz at the end, whose there? You.

I’ve been waiting for this album to come out for over a year. I’ll admit, at the beginning I didn’t know what to think of this seemingly schizophrenic skater kid and his crazy lyrics. But he grew on me. It wasn’t so much the words as much as the passion and the ability to push boundaries that I started to like. Then, I just like everything about him. The charisma, the shows, the interviews, everything. So when I found out a few months ago that Tyler had signed a deal with XL to put out Goblin, I was worried that he would lose some of his creative control. He didn’t lose any.

The album finally dropped today. This is the first album I’ve bought off iTunes since Cudi’s second album if that tells you how much I despise music that costs money. But with all the hype and hope I gave it, it was worth it. I understand that this will be the most polarizing album of the year. Everyone is going to have an opinion and most people are either going to absolutely love it, or absolutely hate it. I don’t really see a medium anywhere. You guys know how much I like Odd Future so you can guess how I feel about the album.

Tyler, The Creator-She Ft. Frank Ocean

Another single off of Tyler’s Goblin called She. The de facto leader of Odd Future teams up with the groups crooner, Frank Ocean, for this one. Tyler and Frank Ocean need to do more stuff together. This is chill as the arctic. This is also adding to the notion that Goblin won’t be Bastard II. Only four more days.

Odd Future’s Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats-Analog (Radio 1 Live)

This was released on YouTube today. Tyler and Hodgy Beats performing the track Analog off of Tyler’s Goblin album. This is obviously different than anything Tyler has done solo, although I’m sure the album version will be a bit more illicit. It actually sounds like something that would be on Hodgy’s MellowHype shit. More of a chill vibe then Tyler’s normal dark stuff, but his gravelly voice still adds some of that dreary feel. Album may prove that Tyler has progressed more than we thought with songs like this.

Tyler, The Creator-Goblin Snippets

The snippets for Tyler, The Creator’s Goblin have been on Amazon for a couple days now. Here is a 30 second snippet of each song. It’s safe to say that Tyler isn’t switching up his shit and looks like he is going to get the creativity control that he wanted. It’s hard to tell lyrically what it is going to be like but the beats sound like this will be a continuation of his first album, Bastard II if you will. The snippets are just pumping me up more for the album and it sounds like it’s definitely going to be something worth listening to. Support Tyler and buy the album, since they’ve been giving us free stuff for forever.

Tyler, The Creator x Goblin

Sorry this is basically turning into an Odd Future blog the last couple days, but this song really deserved to be posted. I spotted this at HypeTrak.com. You’ve probably heard the snippet to this song, the snippet played when you click on that Goblin popup at a bunch of other blogs. Bass heavy and Tyler’s grizzly voice and flow keep this song tight. Embodies the usually sharp and ridiculous lyricism of Tyler with lines like “Rape a pregnant bitch and tell my friends I had a threesome” and “Cut her like a barber with a Parkinson’s Disorder.” Tyler definitely plays the shock value card but it works because it’s so far out of the box.
This will be on the Goblin album coming out in less than 2 weeks. Respect the artist and buy the album. The hype is tremendous.

Tyler, The Creator-Tron Cat

Update: Apparently, Tyler claims this isn’t going to be the version on the album. Although it sounds identical to snippet from Amazon. Hmm, I’m speculating that that 20 seconds of beats at the end is all the difference.
