Kendrick Lamar-Ronald Reagan Era Ft. RZA

After seeing that video with Kendrick Lamar and Wu-Tang clansman RZA, this was the track I was most pumped for off of #Section80. It doesn’t disappoint either, it’s a straight banger. Production by Tae Beast with a pretty dope beat. Thinking it’s a little generous to say the track is “featuring” RZA as I’m pretty sure he only has one line. Whatever, it’s not like K-Dot has needed any assistance with the stuff he’s been putting out lately. Used to think Kendrick had some pretty bland lyrics, but he’s been keeping me engaged as of late.

First “HiiiPoWer,” then “Sex With Society,” and now “Ronald Reagan Era?” Shit, Kendrick, #Section80 is starting to shape up as potentially one of the best music releases of the year. I’ve never been too fond of this guy but with the music he’s been putting out lately, I think this kid may be alright. Oh, by the way, #Section80 drops July 2nd.

Kendrick Lamar-Sex With Society

Kendrick Lamar drops a new song called “Sex With Society” for his #Section80 project via his Twitter today. And it’s a dandy.

This one is a little different than HiiiPoWer in that he kind of sings throughout the songs instead of rapping. It chops up the lyrics a bit and I think it’s dope; better than Drake randomly breaking out in singing midverse. Eh. Kendrick keeps p on his clever wordplay and with the singing stuff I’m really digging the flow of the song. THC on the production of this one; it’s definitely solid. The beat is pretty simplistic but catchy at the same time. Another great track by K Dot and it looks like #Section80 is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Yes, it’s finally here. I’ve been pumped for this video since the single came out. The beginning of the video is an explanation for why he is creating #Section80. He was ordered to by some guy named Lesane Parish Crooks. If you know anything about 90s hip-hop/rap you know who that is. Absolutely ridiculous video that fits in perfectly with the HiiiPoWer theme, which is a track that has been getting some HEAVY rotation on my iPod; it’s on at least 4 or 5 of my newst playlists. Video covers many of the great historical political events in America and the world. Seriously, this video is fucking awesome especially with the playing with fire situation again. I can not wait for Section80 to drop and after seeing these dope visuals, you shouldn’t either.

Kendrick Lamar Pokes Fun At Wiz Khalifa (Video)

I’ve always felt that if you made a song just of Wiz’s laugh, it could sell. I’m not sure why, but anything the guy puts out is considered awesome. Well, Kendrick Lamar goes through some beats and starts impersonating Wiz Khalifa. I don’t know if Kendrick is high or not, but he definitely has the stoned Wiz vibe in this freestyle. With a hook. That’s sick. Apparently, he’s just playing around and he actually likes Wiz.
I’d love to see if Wiz could do an impersonation of Kendrick Lamar, or anyone else for that matter.

Oh, the laugh at the end is spot on too.

UPDATE: Apparently, Wiz thought it was all cool and he respects Kendrick and his ability as an artist. He also claims he can do a nice Jeezy impression. I’m waiting for this.

Here’s a video of Kendrick Lamar working on his new album Section 80 with RZA. The fact that this song is called Ronald Reagan Era piqued my interest as it’s such a peculiar name and I’m starting to hype myself for the album. Especially since I’ve been listening to HiiiPoWer all week. This song sound soulful with some heavy beats. Adding RZA on a verse just makes it even sicker.

I’ve been playing this song all day the past three days. Literally non-stop. I posted the download for this a couple days ago with Kendrick Lamar’s video promoting his new album Section .80 but I figured it deserved some more exposure. The song art is homage to Tommie Smith’s and John Carlos’ Black Power salute at the 1968 Olympics, which in my mind is the most iconic image of any Olympics.

The incredible beat is something I swear I heard Kanye freestyle over a couple years back and this whole song is Kanye reference heavy, especially stuff from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. In fact, it sounds like something Kanye would sing; the deliver, the style, the whole thing. Either way it’s a great song and just adds more hype to Kendrick Lamar’s new album due out soon.

Pretty deep video by Kendrick Lamar for promoting his upcoming mixtape, Section .80; The same tape being produced by the one and only J Cole. Sounds like J Cole is coming in for a few tracks on the album too. I can’t see this album being anything short of awesome. This is no Yonkers, but it’s still a tight, thought-provoking video. And yes, he poured water on himself not gasoline. And the fire is post production shit.

Ah, and here is the first single of the mixtape called HiiiPower. Five star dishes, food for thought, bitches.
